BIOGRAPHY

Pairpoint, founded in 1837, is America’s oldest glass company. Since its inception, Pairpoint has remained in Massachusetts. The company originated in South Boston, produced products for over 100 years in New Bedford, and now operates in Sagamore, directly on the Cape Cod Canal.
At Pairpoint’s largest, our company employed thousands of local workers and master artisans, which began our worldwide reputation as the highest quality glass producer. Over the years, foreign competition impacted the US glassmaking industry, and many historic US glass companies have closed. Pairpoint is considered the last of the remaining "Grande Dames" of glass making, and oldest glass company in the country.
With a huge resurgence of interest in “American Made,” Pairpoint continues to serve clients from many industries across the US. Our artisans create pieces for international sporting events and world class athletes, Hollywood, US Presidents, European royalty, the Vatican, dozens of museums, collectors, and many more of our cherished customers.
Pairpoint manufactures lighting, historic bullseye windows, décor, hardware, barware, art installations, awards and gifts, just to name a few of our product categories. Our products are featured in casinos, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, office buildings, television and movie sets, The White House, Newport historic mansions, and private residences.
There have been many books written about our company, and our designs and techniques have been studied by glassblowers and art historians for generations. Beyond being in permanent collections, our pieces continue to be frequently featured as special exhibits and events in museums, and appear on Antiques Roadshow, and even mentioned by kids on TikTok! There are dedicated Pairpoint experts at auction houses and museums who publicly speak about our history and consult on valuation of the thousands of products that remain in public and private collections worldwide.
Almost daily people from around the globe call and email to connect with us about the Pairpoint piece that they have at their home. They are excited to tell us the story of how it came into their possession and the meaning it has had for them and their families. Often times the owners have questions about the valuation, the design history, how it was made.
